1. In this class, you will create a small mat using traditional hooking as well as learning the basketweave stitch and proddy for the flower petals. Each student will receive a kit that contains the pattern drawn out on linen, and all wool cut and laveled needed to complete the mat. I will have hoops and hooks available for purchase if any students don’t have either a hoop or rug hooking frame or rug hook.
Naomi Nieser-Allen has been rug hooking since about 2003 and is mostly self-taught. Thanks to the wonderful community of rug hookers she has created, she has learned so much more from the talented artists she’s met on her journey. She has taught rug hooking classes at her local adult education program as well as fiber festivals throughout the northeast.
